Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA) said that it was expected that the world would be out of the global financial crisis in early 2011 and the global PCB business would gradually enter its booming period. However, as the debt crisis in Europe has not been perfectly solved, the economic situation greatly influences the development of China’s PCB industry in the second half of this year.
However, TPCA pointed out that Taiwan’s PCB industry was up by 9.2% and reached NT$135.2 million in the third quarter comparing to the second quarter due to the popularity of HDI, multi-layer board and FPC. The introduction of Ultrabook, smart phones and tablet PCs brings energy to the whole PCB industry. The success of Taiwan’s PCB industry in the third quarter lied in its business transition from low-end PCB products to high-end PCB market, which creates greater profitability to the whole PCB industry even under gloomy economy.
Looking into the development of the PCB industry in 2012, the demand for high-end PCB products and FPC will continue to increase. TPCA estimated that Taiwan’s PCB industry in 2012 will be increased by 8.4% over 2011. It is said that the output value of Taiwan’s PCB industry is expected to reach NT$545 billion.
